How
do I download a sound that I purchased?
- Purchased sound files are available
for you to download instantly after
purchase. There is no waiting time,
and you do not need to receive any email
from us. After purchase, go to "My
Account" and from there click on
"My Downloads". There you
will find your purchased files, ready
to download. Our site also sends out
an automated email to you with instructions
on how to download.
|
I
downloaded a sound, but now I can't find
it on my computer
- We do not decide where on your computer
a downloaded file will end up. This
is a setting that is made on your computer
and it is outside of our control. If
you can't find a file after you've downloaded
it, look in your web browser's "Settings",
"Tools" or "Options"
pages and look for a setting that determines
where downloaded files will be stored.
- In FireFox (v.3), click on the
"Tools" menu and select
"Options" from that menu.
Find the "General" screen
and there is a setting there for
"Downloads"; e.g. where
to store downloaded files, whether
to ask for location each time or
just save them to a pre-determined
folder.
- In Google Chrome, click on the
wrench tool in the top right-hand
corner of the browser, and choose
"Options" from that menu.
Then choose "Under the hood"
in the menu on the left-hand side,
and on that page you will find "Downloads
- Download settings" where
you can see and change the folder
for downloaded files.
- In Internet Explorer (v.8), there
is no actual screen or setting but
you can view or change the default
download directory for downloaded
files by editing the Windows registry
as per the instructions given on
this
page. Also, files downloaded
with Internet Explorer usually
end up in the "Temporary Internet
Files" folder which can be
found under C:\Documents and Settings\(Your
name)\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files

I
downloaded a sound, but it doesn't work
/ doesn't play. (24-bit / 16-bit audio)
- If some sounds work okay for you,
but other sounds don't work, don't play,
or won't import into your application
-- then it's probably because those
sounds that work ok are in 16-bit resolution,
whereas those sounds that don't work
for you are in 24-bit resolution.
- 24-bit sound files are in a higher
sound quality, recorded and created
to a higher technical standard than
the "old fashioned", CD-quality,
16-bit sounds. On our site, most sounds
that were created before 2007 are sold
in 16-bit format, but sounds that were
created from about 2007 onwards were
recorded and mastered in 24-bit audio.
Because of the higher bit-rate, they
sound better. They have more depth and
clarity than the trusty old 16-bit format.
- The vast majority of programs can
now play and import 24-bit audio files
just fine. But a few programs are still
unable to handle 24-bit files. For example,
iTunes and QuickTime player can play
a 24-bit audio file just fine, but Windows
Media Player cannot. And whereas Sony
Vegas Studio can use 24-bit audio files
just fine, Pinnacle Studio cannot.
- If you have purchased a sound file
from us in 24-bit audio and you need
to "downgrade" the sound to
16-bit so that it will work better,
you can download a free audio conversion
program called SRCDrop from here: http://www.rarewares.org/others.php#srcdrop.
Download, unpack and run the program.
You'll see a little window with a sound
wave displayed in it. Right-click in
this window and choose "SRC resampling
options" and you'll see a window
with various settings. Set "Output
BitWitdth" to "16-bit PCM",
and click Accept. Now, just drag and
drop any 24-bit sound files into this
little window, and they will quickly
be converted to 16-bit. There are also
other options such as converting from
48000 Hz frequency to 44100 Hz, and
various options for automatically adding
things to the filename etc.

How
long do my Credits last? When do they
expire?
- Credits purchased on our site NEVER
expire. We feel that's part of what
makes our site better than much of our
competition. On many other sites (famous
stock photo sites, stock footage sites
and stock audio sites) your Credits
actually expire after one year. If you
haven't used the credits in this time,
they are simply deleted from your account.
But here at 1SoundFX.com your credits
never expire. They are yours for life.
|
Do
you offer a monthly subscription option?
- No, but we feel that our Credits system
replaces the need for any Subscription
based option. Want the freedom of just
coming to our site and downloading any
sound you need, any time? Then just
buy, say, 200 Credits! With a large
amount of Credits on your account, you
can just come in and pick sounds that
you want any time, without having to
go through a payment process each time.
- With a Subscription model, you're
paying even when you're not downloading
anything. Our Credits system combines
the ease of not having to make payment
each time, whilst also not paying for
any service that you aren't always using.
For example, $699 will buy you 1,000
Credits. That should pretty much last
you for life. And if there is a period
of, say, 6 months when you're not buying
any sounds, then you aren't paying anything
either. Your credits are left untouched
until you come back and start downloading
sounds again.

License
Terms for use of purchased sounds
- After licensing a sound file from
this website, you may use this sound
file within your own project; such as
a video, film, video game, multimedia
presentation, slideshow, website, Flash

- You may not re-distribute the sounds
by themselves. You may not post the

within your company. You may however
not copy, lend, hire, or re-sell the

you.
- Limitation on liability: 1SoundFX.com's

actual price paid for the license.

How
do I get the sounds into my cellphone
/ mobile phone to use them as ringtones?
- Unfortunately, we cannot help you
with this. We just sell you the sound
files. The sounds come as WAV files
which is the most commonly
used sound file format in the world.
The sounds can easily be converted from
WAV to MP3 (Google search "WAV
to MP3") and the sounds can be
used as ringtones with all mobile devices
/ cell phones / mobile phones. However,
with thousands of phone models available,
we cannot give you instructions on how
to install a sound as a ringtone on
your phone. Please refer to the instruction
booklet that came with your phone or
mobile device, or ask for help where
you bought the device.

Customer
testimonials (Unsolicited)
- "Your sound files AND your
service are exceptional. To be honest,
given the low cost of your files, I
was a little dubious ordering. I could
not have been more wrong. The tracks
are all top quality and very obviously
professionally engineered. Then when
I had a (user created) challenge, you
went way beyond the call of duty to
assist. Thank you and I wish you the
success you deserve." - David
Wilks, tradersinspiration.com
- "I came across your sites
Shockwave-Sound.com and 1SoundFX.com
while researching sounds for my iPhone
applications. The excellent selection
of original sounds (and the very affordable
prices) are both great for me as an
independent developer." -
David R., Surrealpath.com
- "I must say I am thrilled
with your site and product. My days
of searching the web for sounds to download
packed with virus’ are over and
your library is quite extensive."
- Aaron Gilbert, USA
